Anniversary Weekend

Every year, we like to celebrate our anniversary with a full weekend of steam. With free parking and free entry, come on down on the Saturday or the Sunday and jump aboard our trains for a ride down the tracks.

• Train rides, with Agecroft (steam) on the tracks, alongside PBA 30 (diesel), and, subject to completion of her winter work, the return of Georgie (diesel)*
• Various rolling stock in operation
• Become a “Driver for a Fiver” as you take control of the train for a short trip (18 years +). Tickets are £5 for non-members, and free for members, available from The Sidings on the day with experiences available between 10.30am – 12.30pm and 2pm – 4pm both days. Not yet a member? You can join in advance or on the day to get this experience for free.
• Footplate rides will also be available for people from 16 years of age. Again, tickets are £5 for non-members, and free for members, available to buy on the day.
• Free hour-long site tours at 11am and 2pm on both days, giving you the chance to hear more about the station building, signal box, engine shed and workshop, and the yard.
• We’ll be welcoming some special guests so you can browse local wares and join the celebrations.

Food and drink will be available in The Sidings throughout the day.

*Train tickets are £5 for adults and £3 for children and can be purchased from The Sidings. As always, members ride for free! Trains will run from 10.30am – 4pm both days with a short lunch break whilst we swap vehicles around. Under 14s must be accompanied by an adult for site tours. Driver for a Fiver is for people aged 18+. Footplate rides are for people aged 16+. We reserve the right to refuse or end a Driver for a Fiver experiences if the actions of the participant will endanger or are endangering the crew and/or themselves.
